AB
Communications Engineering was established by Alister
Bailey Bsc(Hons) CEng MIET .
Alister has an Honours degree in Electronics from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology
(UMIST–1986). He is a chartered member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (formerly the IEE).
After university Alister worked for Philips Research Laboratories — spending five years in Redhill (UK) and two years in Eindhoven (NL). He then returned to the UK and moved to Philips Telecom PMR (later to become Simoco) in Cambridge. He left Team Simoco in June 2004 to form AB Communications Engineering.
Notable achievements during this time include proposals for a packet radio service on GSM (now GPRS), design and manufacture of the first TETRA compliant PMR base-station, transfer and commissioning of a production line from Ireland to Taiwan. Design and manufacture of an award winning slim 100W analogue PMR base station. Most recently design of an advanced TETRA Base Station.
